To unlock the full potential of Swyvl, you need to add your Google 3D Tiles API key. This key enables the use of high-quality basemaps and enhances your experience with accurate and detailed 3D maps.
Google 3D Tiles provides high-resolution imagery and terrain data that significantly improves the visual and functional aspects of your maps in Swyvl. To access this service, an API key from Google is required to authenticate your usage and ensure compliance with their terms of service.
Google may charge you for that API key, depending on usage.
Go to the Google Cloud Console: Visit Google Cloud Console.
Create a New Project: If you don't have an existing project, create a new one by clicking on the project dropdown and selecting "New Project".
Enable the API: Navigate to the APIs & Services Library, search for "Map Tiles API", and enable it for your project.
Enable Billing: Set up your billing profile.
Copy Your API Key: Once created, copy the API key.
Restrict Your Key (optional): For security reasons, we suggest you restrict your API key to be used only with your Swyvl account by setting appropriate restrictions (e.g., Websites and https://build.swyvl.io).
Update your API Key: Go to the "Keys & Credentials" page to view and edit your API keys.
API Key Quotas: The Map Tiles API uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Your first $200 in Google Maps API usage per billing account is free each month. Learn more about Google Maps Platform Billing.
